Fun outside the cabin
Relaxing in some air conditioning, watching tv, and cooking on a stove are all great. But Cabin on the River offers much more. Get outside, watch the wildlife (we have seen many Eagles over the river), start up a campfire, roast some marshmallows or hot dogs. The activities are endless. Fishing, kayaking, hiking are just some of the things that will be right outside your door.

SHOPPING/GAMBLING
Cabin on the River is centralized between 2 great cities Ludington and Manistee. Take your pick or checkout both.
Manistee has great shopping opportunities. Trolley rides throughout downtown and you can visit the historic district. Little River Casino is on the northside of Manistee if you care to test your luck at some slot machines. Take a walk down to visit the large freighters. Or walk down the channel and do some boat watching. Manistee has a little bit for everyone.
Ludington sits on Lake Michigan and has a beautiful downtown area. Visit the children's museum, Ludington State Park, souvenir shops, restaurants and bars. Get some ice cream or frozen yogurt and watch the boats on Lake Michigan.
KAYAKING/CANOEING
Being right on the Big Sauble River has its advantages. Kayaking and canoeing are just a few steps away. Close by in Scottville, Baldwin, Ludington, and Manistee there are many outlets to travel the local rivers and lakes.
HUNTING/FISHING
Northern Michigan is perfect to get outdoors. Public hunting land is not far from Cabin on the River. Check out whats in season and get your license for the time you book your stay.
Avid anglers will have an abundance of rivers and lakes to choose from. Fish from the shore just below our deck, or travel to ludington state park less than 30 min away. Manistee Lake is about 20 minutes away and is great for all kinds of fishing. We here the perch are great there.
BEACHES/SWIMMING
Less than 30 minutes away is the shore of Lake Michigan. Ludington has great views of the sunset and many events throughout the summer. Take a walk on the beach and a dip in the Lake. Ludington State Park has great hiking trails and opportunities to spend a few hours
